E.T.
Sketch Card Commission
by Ingrid Hardy
This beauty arrived in the mail yesterday. It’s my second card in my custom sketch card E.T. collection. My first was a cartoony piece from Cook. This one goes for the more realistic approach and I have to say that it’s much nicer than I expected.
When picking an image for my custom sketch, Hardy’s soft style led me directly to Gertie saying good-bye. It’s one of the most touching scenes ever captured in film and it’s captured beautifully here.
Although it may not be “licensed”, it is art and it will stay in my collection for always. Be jealous. I don’t mind. The card also brightened my day because it arrived when I received my two boxes of Indiana Jones Heritage. One box didn’t even land me a base set. The second had another sketch card. Needless to say that I like Hardy’s E.T. better and the cost was about one-third that of my two boxes of Indy Heritage.
